Skechers are extremely proud to be sponsoring Project Spraoi this year. Skechers are one of the biggest global sports brands, who promote their brand around a healthy and active lifestyle! Inevitably, Skechers and Project Spraoi were the perfect fit.

Skechers is a family brand that believes greatly in health and well-being, particularly with regards to kids. They believe kids getting out and getting active is a key factor in growing-up healthy. Skechers love the vision behind Project Spraoi, to increase children’s physical activity, improve their nutrition and ultimately positively influence the overall health of Irish children. Skechers do a lot of work with kids around Ireland to help raise awareness for a healthy and active lifestyle. For example they also sponsor the SFAI National Cup, promoting kids local soccer clubs all over Ireland. Skechers also have a number of Irish brand ambassadors who would be very involved in sporting industry. Derval O’Rourke, is the main brand ambassador for this year. Derval is a sprint hurdler athlete who has competed in major athletic championships all over the world and has won gold at The Indoor World Championships! She is the perfect persona to represent the Skechers brand! Not only does she train multiple times a week, she also has her own health brand, The Fit Foodie.

Skechers was established in Manhattan Beach, California in 1992. Paul Gallagher, brought the Skechers brand to Ireland in 2010 and Skechers now have 16 stores nationwide. They have also recently won “Brand of the Year” for the U.K and Ireland at the Footwear Industry Awards. Skechers offers two distinct footwear categories: a lifestyle division which offers comfort-focused, trend-right product for men, women and kids, and the Skechers Performance Division for elite athletes and sports enthusiasts.
